Melissa is an educator at heart and has long been drawn to learn how people work — body, brain, behavior, and spirit for a lifetime. She holds a BSc in Community Development, a minor in Psychology, and a undergrad certificate in Social Media. She has continued expanding her science, research, and communication training with MIT's Neuroscience of Business and Harvard grant writing certificates. Her lifelong learning style and compassion for people and animals strengthens her ability to translate complex information into language people can actually use.
In addition, Melissa is trained in Technology of Participation (ToP) Facilitation, a structured method for helping individuals and groups turn insights into realistic next steps. In practice, that means clients don’t just receive information — they receive a clear, life-fit plan with priorities, sequencing, and practical follow-through. With ToP she also brings action and strategic planning skill and technique into wellness education.
Planning to pursue advance education, she enrolled in Michigan State University's Masters Program for Strategic Communications but an unexpected illness changed that path and put her on the road to natural health and wellness. While communications, events, outreach, and education work has long been a part of her career path, the experience of that short but harsh illness directly led her to pursue whole-person health.
Melissa enrolled in formal training in 2025 for a four year naturopath doctoral program. In early 2026 she graduated year one with a diploma as Natural Health Educator. In Spring 2026 she embarks on year two training as a Natural Health Therapist. Currently she is also enrolled in certification training through the MAP Coaching Institute, studying groundbreaking psychology on the brain and how our subconscious and superconscious can impact our daily lives and how we can learn to understand and use them to make our lives better.
Her care for humanity, education, experience, and positive energy helps clients feel at ease as they learn ways to improve their health. Her teaching style allows people to learn in a relaxed and fun manner and she welcomes all ages to join in classes or workshops in person or online. She is a grateful person who loves to help people and animals feel better and enjoy a higher quality of wellness in their lives. Melissa is a proud tribal member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians who welcomes opportunities to support all tribal nations in a Good Way.
